Can you tell us how Elegant Speech begin? What made you go with that stage
I love to mix singing and rapping. For me, Elegant speech is soft yet hard, beautiful but rugged.
Has music always been a way of expression for you since you were a kid?
Yes, I remember writing songs at a very young age with my brother. Music has always made me feel like I’m a part of something special.
I started to feel like I was holding myself back trying to conform to some image I put on myself. Now, I say whatever I want in my music. It’s actually quite liberating.
How has your music evolved/changed since you first started?
My first 3 albums I was determined not to use cuss words in my flow. By my 4th album, I started to feel like I was holding myself back trying to conform to some image I put on myself. Now, I say whatever I want in my music. It’s actually quite liberating.
As an artist, the most challenging part is finding your voice, your style. How was that process for you like?
Since I was 17 I knew I wanted to make rap music, I only sang before that age. I figured since I was good at both I may as well mix the 2 of them. But I never wanted to sound like Beyonce I wanted to sound like Jonathan Davis from Korn.
Who would you say are your biggest influencers musically?
Tech Nine, Korn, Godsmack, Eminem
How do you find inspiration when you’re writing?
I draw inspiration from my everyday struggles, my emotions mostly anger and fear but for me, music is my outlet.
Keep a Little Chaos is about being responsible and taking care of business but also, keeping that little part of yourself that likes to have fun.
Back in March, you released your latest album “Keep A Little Chaos”. What motivated and inspired you to do it?
I was at a point in my life where I felt I was letting my management job take over my life. I wasn’t having fun anymore. Keep a Little Chaos is about being responsible and taking care of business but also, keeping that little part of yourself that likes to have fun. The part that loves adventures.
How long did the album take from start to finish?
It took a good year and a half to complete.
Do you have a favorite track from your album?
My favorite track would have to be “This Creature” it was well done and different from anyone else putting out music these days.
Are your songs a mirror of your feelings?
For sure! I often think how people probably think I’m super twisted but at the end of the day, music helps me get the evil out- or the good, depending on where I take the track.
