nightmare trill taps into the process of creating his 16-track album

Congrats on the release of your new album that was released earlier this year. How long did it take from start to finish? And what inspired you to do it?

Hey, thanks! It took me a long time. A little over six months to complete. Everything inspired me pretty much. I have met a lot of positive people around Texas!

There are 16 tracks in the album. How was the writing process? Do you have tracks that you particularly enjoyed working on?

Yes, well I usually get to writing music at night. I love writing music all night! I love freestyling! Freestyle is a difficult hobby I enjoy.

In what ways do you think you’ve evolved as an artist since you started releasing music?

Well as an artist, I feel that I can understand an audience now. When they like to turn up their speakers real loud and cause chaos with that bang in their trunks!

Let’s go back to the very beginning. How did you begin your musical journey?

My journey just wasn’t ever easy. I started freestyling in middle school vs all my black friends. I kept trying to get better every day.

Seems like I made things a bit harder along the way, but music can change my mood right away no matter what.

Where are you based right now? Do you like the music scene in your town?

Loving the music scenes in Houston aka Screwston! It just isn’t a real day in Houston without any sort of music playing real loud somewhere in the background.

What would you say were/are your biggest challenges?

Really there are some tough challenges like studio time. Building up fan base that vibes.

Can you walk us through your creative process?

I try to stand out from others artistically. I don’t like biting people’s style. If I stutter, I start all over again. I look at it as a workout for my brain.

How do you find daily motivation and inspiration?

I feel like haters motivate you in a passionate angry way. Also, tough challenges are my inspiration to push on. I need this in my life so much!

How do you define real “hip-hop” at this point?

Real “Hip-Hop” is after all the bragging and nagging. You know cut the funny jaw jogging nonsense. They want that pimp-ish baby know’m saying man!

What’s wrong with the music industry?

If it was that easy to figure out, someone would have fixed it already. A lot of people say bad taste. I say no real people worth looking up to.

Do you plan on releasing music videos soon?

We will have to wait and see. Sorry y’all.

What are you currently working on right now? Anything you can share with us?

It’s a song called “I’m a Nightmare”. Available soon.

Are you doing any gigs/tours?

Really I’m more focused on merchandise for fans. Also hard copy CDs. Probably will accept a few gigs this time.

What’s next for you? Anything you want to share with the fans?

Oh yeah, keep yo head up. Every day’s a blessing! I know that fans want more music, let’s get it, man!
